iZombie Season 6: Is it Happening? Everything Expected to Come Up

The last and fifth season of iZombie had a good result. That doesn’t say, though, that fans weren’t looking forward to Liv Moore and the entire squad being back on their screens. The fifth season was introduced in May 2019 and concluded in August of the same year. Since then, viewers have been looking forward to season 6 of iZombie.

The CW show is based on Chris Roberson and Michael Allred’s comic series of the same name. The show begins with a very intriguing plot about a zombie coroner who utilizes her abilities to solve a series of crimes and creates a complex universe of zombie-human relationships. The plot has grown for the five seasons that are now streaming. What will be happening to season 6 of the iZombie? Keep reading to know more about this.

Is iZombie Season 6 Happening?

Although several people wished that iZombie Season 6 will come, the fact is that the sixth season is never going to happen. Back in 2018, iZombie’s producers confirmed the renewal of the fifth season. They have revealed, along with that statement, that the fifth season would be the last of the series. The showrunner, Rob Thomas, said in the announcement that it was lovely to bow to the end of the season. They’re going to tackle all the long-term concerns and arcs.

Although viewers expected more of the season, like a bright liner in the gray storm, this timely reveal offered the producers an opportunity to tie up the show neatly. That said, the show was a crime-solving program from the start, and then it turned into a series about a global epidemic, warring forces that were struggling to survive, and a lot more. If the display had progressed, it is likely that the show may have been an undead shark. But this way, with the fifth season coming to a close, it feels like the show ended at the right time.

What Happened In The End?

By the end of the fifth season, Seattle is battling head to head. Finally, Liv & co. find a way to defeat the zombie plague. They show that it’s possible. The episode finishes with a time leap where viewers can see Ravi, the president of the CDC, Peyton, who is now the DA, and Clive, who is the co-captain of the SFPD and Dale. They’re on a talk show where they can be heard learning about the last days of the entire epidemic. They make it obvious that they’ve dealt with the infection, because everybody assumes that Liv perished in the final fight. Things don’t stop there, though. In the end, there’s a surprise. Liv isn’t gone. She and the major came with the initial zombie land dram anywhere where all those who didn’t want to be saved will remain happily.

Everything That Could Be Explored In Season 6

If the sixth season is going to happen, it’ll be a perfect opportunity to tackle post-zombie life. Not just that, the show could also discuss the key characters and how the zombie land was. It will also be fascinating to know if Liv and Major decided to drive out all those who chose to run. Along with that, there were a variety of issues that we needed the program to discuss. Can the show discuss the 10-year void in detail? What’s wrong with Filmore Graves? The Major Corporation? Did Blaine come out of the well to trigger further trouble?

While the show has been cancelled for now, you never know. It is completely possible that some other creator would pick the show up and make more of it. iZombie was one of the most popular cult hits. It was nominated for a number of Teen Choice Awards and was able to bag great reviews from the critics. So, anything is possible. Looking at other possible opportunities, the creators might even plan a spin-off series that explores the post-zombie lives perhaps? We will keep you updated with all the news as we get it.
