Remember that super sexy LBD that Katherine Heigl’s character Abby wore in this summer’s comedy The Ugly Truth? You know - the one with the sweetheart neckline and flawless fit? It was custom-designed by Giorgio Armani and costumer Betsy Heimann.

The good news? We found a similar luxe LBD from the Armani Collezioni. Make it yours after the jump!

Fashion Spoiler: Izzie’s Frye Boots on Grey’s Anatomy 515

  |  { 1 } COMMENT

The Grey’s Anatomy girls sure do love their Frye boots. Tonight on ‘Before and After,’ Izzie Stevens wears a super-cute pair of chestnut-colored ankle booties that get far too little screen time, in our humble opinions. Here’s your chance to give them the publicity they deserve - on your own feet, perhaps?

Here’s the costume continuity book shot for you Grey’s junkies:

Come back soon - we’ll have all the delicious details from tonight’s episode.

Grey’s Anatomy Headliners Quit! At Least We Still Have Mer-Der

We weren’t that surprised to read that Katherine Heigl (Izzie Stevens) and T.R. Knight (George) are quitting Grey’s Anatomy. Izzie’s storylines have been a little on the weird side (”I see - and do other things to - dead people”) and George O’Malley had about 10 seconds of screen time in last week’s episode. Still, in their glory days, these two were great additions to Grey’s. And yes, we will find out who makes Izzie’s robe before she leaves the show for good.

Of course, we still have the looks seen on Grey’s Anatomy each week for you here on SeenON! - check out Meredith, Cristina, and Derek’s looks, and Izzie’s while you still can. (Callie’s outfits are our favorites, anyway - so here’s hoping for her continued behind-the-scenes happiness!)

Shoptalk: Izzie’s Bow-Neck Coat on Grey’s Anatomy

Who made this amazing jacket that Izzie has been wearing for the last two episodes of Grey’s Anatomy? Please help! - Anna

Nice spotting, Anna! We love the coat that Izzie Stevens wears in Grey’s Anatomy, too. We haven’t been able to locate that gorgeous teal color, but the mystery coat is actually the Mysterious Coat by Nanette Lepore. You can get it here at edressme in cream or here at revolveclothing.com in black. xoxo

Shoptalk: Izzie’s Hooded Robe from Grey’s Anatomy 509

Help! I’m desperate to find out where to get Izzie’s hooded robe on Grey’s Anatomy. - dragonchic54

We’ve had sooo many questions on Izzie Stevens’s robe from the ‘In The Midnight Hour’ episode of Grey’s Anatomy. We looked through our books and called the show’s costume supervisor, and the robe is in fact a Jones New York robe that “they had hanging around.” Of course, that means you can’t find it online anywhere. (Some of you have questioned whether the robe was truly Jones New York, so we’ve included the continuity book notes in this post so you can see for yourselves.)

We did find a few cozy robe alternatives for all you hooded robe fiends out there. Check out this eco-friendly hooded robe from Gaiam. Looks so comfy!

You can also try this hooded robe by Barefoot Dreams or this more luxe option from Karen Luu.

Here’s the continuity book notes so you can see for yourself:

SeenON! Guest Blogger: Gabrielle Solis With Short Hair

  |  { 1 } COMMENT

Krizia from www.myBeautyMatch.com talks about the link between Gabrielle Solis shorter hair and her new status.

Episode 502

Holy flash-forward Batman! Have you noticed how the ladies of Wisteria Lane on Desperate Housewives have advanced in time by 5 years! It of course makes for more juicy plots and it also makes room to add younger characters (I always love it when soap operas or TV shows age little toddlers by five or ten years overnight).

The biggest change in this flash-forward has got to be Gabrielle Solis’ (played by Eva Longoria-Parker) new shorter hair style and her new status as a stay-at-home mom with a working-class handicapped husband.

I find it interesting that when Gabrielle and Carlos were high rolling in shady activities and mucho dinero, Gabrielle’s long hair crowned her face, but now that money is tight, she’s sporting a very short and quite un-kept bob.

A few other unmistakable changes include the fact that Gabrielle, who never went out to pick-up the daily paper at her door without full on makeup, is now walking around town without even a little lipgloss. Additionally, Gabrielle who also used to wear tight and revealing designer clothing is now wearing loose fitting and fairly matronly fashion.

You’ve got to hand it to the stylist on that show … the transformation from Riches to Rags is complete!

That said, I thought I’d touch on the point of shorter hair a little further.

Shorter bobs are the rage since Victoria Beckham moved to this side of the Atlantic and she converted her BFF Katie Holmes (aka Mrs. Tom Cruise) to chop off her long dark brown hair for a shorter and edgier style that is now the envy of so many women.

I’d say that one of the biggest trends in Hollywood right now has been leading ladies cutting their hair short.

From Rhianna to Katie Holmes to Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy) to Ellen Barkin (Ocean’s 13) to Jenny McCarthy and now to Eva Longoria Parker shorter hair is now sexy and sassy.

If you are going to sport a short bob, you’ll want to take these 10 beauty and style tips into consideration:

1. Remember that short hair can look very un-kept if you don’t make an effort.

2. Make sure that you have a statement hair color that turn heads.

3. You want to make that your hair is well conditioned to avoid any frizziness.

4. Your flat iron will become your best friend!

5. Keep your hair well cut at all times - that means you’ll need to see your hairdresser every 4-6 weeks or so to maintain the cut.

6. Make sure you go for a bob that’s not too severe and that compliments your features.

7. Play with makeup - you can get away with bolder makeup without looking too over the top when you have shorter because there is less distraction than when you have a lot of hair.

8. Play with bolder jewelry - especially necklaces and earrings!

9. Put a lot of accent on your lips and your lip color. Often times bobs will hug the jaw line giving a lot of emphasis to your lips - make sure your show them off with flattering colors or bold red lips.

10. If you want to go short for one day or a weekend, a short bob wig will do the trick and it’s also a great way to see if you’ll like a shorter-do!

We Want This: Izzie’s Cable Sweater from Grey’s Anatomy 508

  |  { 1 } COMMENT

The costume designers on Grey’s Anatomy usually choose classic pieces to dress up the after-work lives of our favorite Seattle Grace docs. Separates by Vince are a frequent choice for Izzie Stevens - and we’re not surprised. This week, in “These Ties That Bind,” her long, chunky charcoal gray cardigan strikes the perfect balance between casual and done up. And pair it with a pair of Rock & Republic jeans like Izzie did, and you’ve got yourself a TV-worthy look.

Fashion Rewind: Izzie’s Grey Top from Grey’s Anatomy 501

OK, so the doctors on Grey’s Anatomy don’t wear “real” clothes very often, but when they do, we think they’re pretty cute! On tonight’s episode “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” Izzie Stevens was wearing this Martin + Osa top (in between frequent stints with the scrubs).

Check back here each week for more of the products and styles seen on Grey’s Anatomy!

Look of the Day: Katherine Heigl

We can’t get enough of Diane von Furstenberg this week. First we were enchanted by her as Wednesday’s guest judge on Project Runway for Episode 508, now we take in the lovely Katherine Heigl wearing her Kitt dress at the 3rd Annual “Hot In Hollywood” Event.

Not only does the two tone dress fit her every curve perfectly, but the beautiful satin at the bodice of the dress accents her glowing complexion. She is the definition of “hot” in this number. Take her cue and throw on a surprisingly sophisticated and sexy piece for your special night and polish it off with glittering drop earrings and metallic sandals to really shine.

Enjoy the weekend - and check in next week when one of the ladies from one of our favorite shows looks pretty in pink!

2007 Emmy Awards Fashion: Red White & Blue Winners

emmy-dresses
Save one or two fashion mishaps, overall I was thrilled with the fashion choices at last night’s 2007 Emmy Awards. My top picks follow a rather patriotic theme…Ali Larter looked gorgeous in a red strapless Reem Acra sheath, Katherine Heigl showed off her svelte figure in a white Zac Posen gown, and America Ferrera absolutely dazzled in royal blue Monique Lhullier. God Bless America!
