It’s Not About the Dancing
Wednesday, November 28th, 2007
Let’s be blunt, people. If anyone had any doubt that popularity trumps talent on Dancing With the Stars, it just got proven beyond a shadow of a doubt last night. Marie Osmond wasn’t a great dancer, but she outlasted Sabrina Bryan. Bryan looked like she should turn pro in her return performance last night. And Helio Castroneves beat Melanie Brown. Helio was good, but Mel was better. She was the top scorer of all the dancers overall. And aside from my own eyes, I trust three professional dancers’ opinions. I’m not disappointed by the results so much as feeling my cynicism confirmed. The trophy is probably cold comfort against his fiancée dumping him, but I’m not going to lie and say I think he deserved it just because his relationship died.
And as an aside, would someone please put Celine Dion out of my misery? Or at least feed the woman more than 900 calories a day?
